Legendary Reggae DJ David Rodigan Receives Royal Honor

David “RamJam” Rodigan has been appointed to receive the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, or MBE, by the Queen of England, for his contributions to broadcasting. adding him to a slim list of royal resident DJs that includes Annie Nightingale and Norman Jay.
The MBE doesn’t, apparently, entitle him to use the honorific prefix “Sir,” but we still hope that deejays recording his tributes start calling him “Sir RamJam,” just because it sounds awesome.
Rodigan has represented all forms of reggae music on British airwaves and beyond for over 30 years—from programs on BBC Radio and on KISS FM to countless sound clashes all over the world
